William (Willie) Loewen

William (Willie) Loewen

February 9, 2020

Brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend

Bill passed away suddenly February 9, 2020 at the age of 91. Coming from a family of long years, father was 104. Born in Lowe Farm, lived in Steinbach Manitoba. Predeceased by Mary his loving wife of 49 years., Moved to BC, working in the construction industry with Mary along side helping. She gave him three children and much happiness, living where the work took them.

Second time around, now retired husband of Irene sharing 17 years of adventures, playing guitar and singing Gospel music in many venues, and traveling especially to see family along the way, he loved driving his Gold Wing trike.  It was a sad day last year when he gave it up. We moved to Hope “a rancher” many said we should move into a retirement home. Bill had a workshop and enjoyed making ornaments; bird houses too many projects to mention. Gardening and landscaping, he took out a row of trees pulling them out with the car (thought it was a truck).  His smile was contagious; his jokes sometimes left one to ponder. He loved the little Seventh-day Adventist church in Hope and having many friends who loved him. He loved searching out the gems found in the Bible.  At his age many of his old friends were gone on ahead of him. He always looked and acted younger than his chronicle age. Took a helicopter ride, went swimming weekly and exercise to keep fit.

He leaves to morn him: Bruce (Chris) Loewen, Deb (Terry) Elliott, and Val Radcliffe his children.

Of a family of thirteen only Brother Abe (Laurie) Loewen, and sisters Susan (Abe) Rempel and Viola (Hank) Remple

Stepchildren loved him as Pops. Dan (Sandy) Desharnais, Claudette (Troi), Roxanne Windall, and David (Tanya)Desharnais.

Also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial celebration of life will be held March 8, 1 pm at the Mount Hope Seventh-day Adventist church 1300 Ryder Street Hope

In lieu of flowers Bill’s favorite charity was ADRA (Adventist Developement & Relief Agency) A global humanitarian arm of the Adventist church or to you favorite charity.
