William Anderson

August 1, 2021

With great sadness, the Anderson family announces the passing of our beloved son Billy (William John - DOB December 28, 1958) on August 1 from complicated health issues.

Billy was a very kind and quiet person who was extremely private and avoided imposing on anyone - he would rather do without than ask for help. Fishing, hunting, and being outdoors were activities he loved. He enjoyed his solitude and his time spent as a long-time member of Branch 280 - the Vedder Legion.

Billy remains in the hearts of his parents May and Bill of Sooke; his sisters Penny (Randy) of Chilliwack, Kathy (Arnold) of Prince Albert, Jennifer of Victoria, Deanna (Jason) of Sooke; brothers Alan of Sooke and Ken (Wendy) of Saskatoon. Billy loved being an uncle to his many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

A small celebration of life for family will be held in Sooke on Friday evening. If you can't join us, we know Billy would appreciate you taking a moment to enjoy a slice of pizza (folded in half, of course) and an ice-cold beer in his honour.

You are invited to leave a personal message for the family.

I am so sorry to hear the loss of such a friendly person, I met him at the Legion and it was always so great to see his smiling face and friendly hello whenever I entered the building. He will surely be missed and for sure I will have a slice of pizza on his behalf!

We are so shocked and saddened at the news of Bill's passing.  He always had a smile and a joke or two, was friendly to everyone and boy was he good at Trivia - everyone wanted to be on Bill's team.   He was one of the regulars at the Legion and our 280 family will miss him terribly.  Sending our deepest condolences to his Family, relatives and friends.   Looking forward to seeing you on Oct. 3 at the branch.

Hugs,

K. Smith.
