Warren (Nick) Edward LeForte

It is with deep sadness we announce that on Friday, January 8, 2021, Warren (Nick) LeForte lost his long battle with cancer.  He is survived by his loving wife Jan, devoted daughters Jess (Aaron) and Kelsey (Brandon), his sisters-in-law Gail (Bob), Lesley (Ray) and Marcy, as well as his father Charles (Faye),sisters Deborah (Adrian) and Lisa (Wayne) in Nova Scotia. Nick was predeceased by his mother Gean  and brother Marlowe.

Nick loved his hobbies. He produced many beautiful woodworking creations as gifts for others, and was known as “Mr. Fix-It”, completing DIY renos and repairs in his own home and other family members’ homes.  Passionate about riding his motorcycle, Nick enjoyed countless trips with Jan and his riding buddies.  A talented electrician, Nick served as the Chief Electrical Safety Manager for the City of Surrey before his illness in 2016.

Nick had a great sense of humour and fun.  “Nick” jokes were enjoyed by friends and subject to “dad joke” groans from his family.  He was a  generous, loving and caring father, husband, son and brother.  We miss him so much already.

The family would like to thank Dr. Blinkhorn and Carol at Village Medical for their ongoing care, Dr. C. Lee, Dr. Simpson, and the nurses at FVCC for their kindness and the expertise that allowed Nick to have extra time with us.

A private family service will be held at a future date.

You are invited to leave a personal message for the family.

I am so sorry to hear of Nick's passing. I worked next to Nick in the City of Surrey and always enjoyed our discussions of travel and everyday life. He was a great guy with a heart of gold.

Nick was a very smart man and he was kind to others.  I will always remember Nick getting up in front of all of his co workers in council chambers at the old city hall with his guitar and played a song.. a fun song with the help of Karen Hynes on vocals. We all sat back and enjoyed  and I remember thinking, what gutsy people!! Nick was a cool guy.

Jan, Jess (Aaron) and Kelsey (Brandon), please accept my deepest condolences on the  passing Nicky. He was a gentleman in the true sense of the word; liked and admired by all who knew him.

It is my hope and prayer that your many memories of Nicky will bring you some consolation in the days, weeks, and years ahead.

You have lost a special person and my prayers are with you and all of Nick's families.

RIP Nicky,

Stewart

I am a building inspector at Surrey. I was very sad to hear this news. Nick used to walk by my desk most days, which is how I was fortunate enough to meet, and start a work friendship, with him. I very much enjoyed our conversations....his stories. I felt lucky to know him.

I am sad there will not be anymore stories, but feel lucky that I was able to enjoy a few. I will miss him.

I am so sorry for your loss.

~ Kevin

we lost touch shortly after Nick moved to British Columbia and I remember driving across Canada with Nick many years ago. We had great fun and he is a wonderful person to everyone he meets. I will remember only good times when I think of Nick. Blessings to all his family and friends who dearly miss him. He went on early to save us a heavenly seat. God willing. love and blessings.
