Sheila Lisa McCafferty

June 8, 1976 – December 28, 2025

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Sheila Lisa McCafferty announce her sudden passing on December 28, 2025 in Vancouver BC.

Sheila is pre-deceased by her parents John & Lorraine McCafferty, and her sister, Lori Irwin.

Sheila is survived by her nieces Brittany (Craig) & Emma, her nephew, Jesse, her great nieces and nephews, McKayla, Kayden, Colby, along with many cousins and Aunts.

Sheila was born in Vancouver BC and raised in Ladner BC. After high school Sheila attended college where she earned a degree as a Special Education Assistant and later went on to work for the Delta School District. During her time with the School District Sheila made a positive impact on the children she worked with as well as with her co-workers who will miss her dearly.

Sheila’s support and commitment was unwavering for those she cared about, as was evidenced by the manner in which Sheila cared for and nursed her mother Lorraine during her mother’s courageous battle with cancer.

Sheila will be remembered for living life on her terms, for her adventurous spirit, and for her love of travelling. Sheila also had a fierce passion for walking, whether it be 10 blocks or 10 Kilometers she was always up for the challenge.

Sheila’s sense of humor and quick wit kept us all on our toes, but more importantly it kept us laughing. Even through the most challenging of times Sheila’s sense of humor was the glue that held us together, it was her greatest gift.

To our beautiful Sheila: “Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts”

No formal funeral service will be held. Family and friends will gather at a future date (TBD) to scatter her ashes.

You are invited to leave a personal message for the family.
