Shelia Joyce (Joy) Gould: May 3, 1937-January 2, 2026

After suffering a fall in her home on Christmas Day, Joy Gould passed away on January 2, 2026 at the age of 88. She is survived by her son Lorne Gould (Dorothy), her daughter Raelyn Peters (Ken) and her grandchildren Elisabeth Gould and Eric Gould. The youngest of three children, Joy was born in Salmo to Roy and Margaret Carrington and grew up in Princeton, British Columbia. During her life she lived in Fraser Lake, Chase, Kamloops, Penticton, and most recently White Rock. She is predeceased by her parents, brothers Neil and Mel, and her ex-husband Samson Gould, Jr.

Fiercely independent and strong willed, Joy was an animal lover, avid reader, fan of British murder mysteries, and enjoyed the outdoors, especially on a golf course. She had several health challenges in her later years, most tragically the loss of her sight to macular degeneration which took away reading.
