February 12, 2021

Today we announce the passing of our beloved father, Roy Paul Arlt who passed peacefully on February 12, 2021 at the Langley Memorial Hospital.

Roy was one of 4 children, a wonderful father, grandfather and an awesome brother to his identical twin, Ray Alvin Arlt.  He was a great, loyal friend to many.

Roy was born in Trail, BC in 1935.  He loved his family and friends. He was a joyful, happy person who loved everyone and was always willing to help others. He especially enjoyed playing cribbage daily with his lovely friends.

He enjoyed playing the accordion and the harmonica and his passion was singing and dancing. He participated in an acting, singing & dancing group called “The Versatiles” in his early years of retirement.

He was an avid birdwatcher and fisherman, often joined by his best friend, Murray.

He leaves behind Louise, his wife of 2 years whom he met while dancing.

He also leaves behind two children, Tim and Lisanne and 8 beloved grandchildren; Riley, Hallie, Vanessa, Keenan, Shaala and twins; Tessa and Claire.

Dad, may you rest in peace with your daughter Deirdre, your grandson, Paul Joseph, our mother Christine and others in the family who have gone before you.

He will surely miss your presence and love, you are in all our thoughts daily with the sunrise and the birds singing your song(s).

Love you Papa Bear/ Grandpa Bear.

You are invited to leave a personal message for the family.

I always enjoyed my days on the river with Roy and my own dad Murray. His friendship with my dad was as genuine as it gets.

There are few people in this world as generous, fun loving and full of wonder as this gentle and respectful man. He is missed and will be remembered for a long time.

Please accept heartfelt condolences from Grant, Christie, Fisher and Hailey.

So many wonderful memories of our sweet uncle Roy. He always had a joke to share, a song to sing and a twinkle in his eye. We know he will Rest In Peace while dancing, fishing and humming a tune.

Love to the family.
