Ronald Dean Lewis (Buzz)

July 27, 1957 – March 23, 2023

It is with deep heartbreak that we announce the sudden passing of “Buzz” Ronald Dean Lewis. Deeply missed by his sister Janet Lewis, brother Robert (Bob) Lewis, and lovingly remembered by his extended family and friends.

Buzz was a warm and gentle soul with a love of laughter and a good joke. He enjoyed engaging with people, usually through humour or story-telling. Animals, nature, science, machines and gadgets intrigued him - he had an innate curiosity about wanting to know how things worked. Dog Stubby, Moonie, Sorra and Sitka were his fur family companions over the years.

Raised and schooled in Saskatoon, he was drawn to the mountains, lakes and natural beauty of British Columbia. He had a passion for Seadoos, motorcyles, trucks, classic cars, anything with wheels and a motor! Water skiing, skateboarding and skidooing were favourite activities while living in Pemberton and Whistler.

Always kind and thoughtful, Buzz generously shared with friends and family. He lived a life that was his own, and walked a difficult journey, to the beat of his own drum. To know him was to love him and we have lost a bright light and loving spirit. We are so blessed to have had him in our lives. His years long addiction ultimately took his life. Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, Friend - rest peacefully, beloved memories keep you with us always.

The family will hold the internment at Smithville Cemetery, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on Monday, July 10, 2023.

Condolences to the family! A kind soul taken to soon!

My memories of Buzz are of what a happy, lively, up for adventure guy he was. Many years ago, high school years, but he is forever in my memories as that Buzz!  He was always my best friend Janet’s cute, adorable, personable younger brother! You were always very loved,  and will be very missed. Condolences to all who  loved him!

My deepest condolence to the Lewis family. Ron had a beautiful soul with such a great smile.

I’m happy that he brought his sister to me.

He will be truly missed by all he touched in his  life.

God Bless

Janet and Bob, I was utterly shocked and deeply saddened when I found this obituary.  Having recently retired, I was looking to connect with Buzz; instead of finding him, I found his obituary.  He was a fun-loving soul, and he lived his life to the fullest.  I knew him in high school and dated him for awhile in the late 1970's...we had a lot of great times, but we were too young to handle some of the obstacles that came our way.  He changed my life forever, and I will never forget him.  I extend my deepest sympathy to you.  May all of you find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace.
