Robert Glanville

May 17, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Robert Winston Glanville on May 17, 2026. Bob is predeceased by his wife Diane and his sister Gail.

Bob was born in Ottawa on May 7, 1945 and married Diane on August 13, 1966. Together they raised their sons Rob and Drew and enjoyed their grandchildren Stepha, Marley and Brooke.

Bob managed several BC Liquor Store branches across BC over his career. He later enjoyed working at The Home Depot, which aligned with his hobby of home renovations.

More than anything, Bob was someone who was simply always there for his community, friends, and family. He contributed to his communities as a volunteer first responder and lent his time to help run the 1985 Northern BC Winter Games in Kitimat. His generosity also showed in his commitment to others - he donated plasma over 100 times throughout his life.

Bob and Diane loved to travel and met many lifelong friends on trips and cruises. Bob was a social butterfly who will be missed by the many friends he made and kept in touch with over the years.

On behalf of my parents Brian and Linda Jackson we wish to express our deepest sympathies. Bob was a wonderful person who always made my parents laugh.  They have shared many memories of their trips and visits together.  Bob was always a kind soul who helped me and the family during our time of need.  My sincere condolences

We have known Bob and Di since 1991 when Di and Chris worked together at the Royal Bank Operation Centre. Di, Lise and Chris used to walk approximately Ten miles a day on their lunch break. Then we started doing weekend hikes around the lower mainland. One of the most  memorable was hiking to the top of Mount Baker. Bob, as well as Brenda and a few others did this hike a few times. When we weren’t hiking, we spent many an evening at the Gillnetter Pub enjoying a cold one and some chicken wings. We enjoyed evenings playing cards or murder mysteries. We sold our home 9 months prior to Don retiring and rented Bob and Di’s basement suite before traveling in our 5th wheel. We were welcomed like family and included in all events. We will greatly miss both of them and their love of life! May they rest in peace together!
