Rita Elaine Raymond (nee Campbell)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mother,Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend, Rita Elaine Raymond. Rita is survived by her children, Brandon, Aaron and Dorthea (Sebastien); her grandchildren Garrett, Anthony, Kara-Mya and Jacques; her siblings Melodie, Todd (Jacqueline), and Rory (Reena); her half siblings Glen, Lorne, Leslie and Roderick and their mother Diane; along with her nieces, nephews and many friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Lucille and Arnvid Stenberg, her daughter Shaughla and her biological father William Greene.
Rita was born in Vancouver, BC on April 12, 1952, and passed on February 15, 2026. Rita lived on her own terms and never let anyone else define her. As a teen, Rita successfully fought to be the first young woman ever included in the mechanics class at Vancouver Technical Secondary School. Rita was an independent soul, who left home young to find adventure and brave the wilds of the Yukon. She was fearless, giving birth to her first son alone on the kitchen table in a one-room cabin in Whitehorse, an event covered by the local paper. Rita enjoyed a good story and read thousands of books over the course of her life, often with a strong cup of coffee in hand. She loved her grandchildren and spending time with them was the greatest joy of her life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A viewing will be held for family at 9:00 AM and friends at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 6th at, 3070 - 275A Street in Aldergrove. Reception immediately after at Station House Pub and Grill at 3122 Station Road, Abbotsford.
You are invited to leave a personal message for the family.
So sorry to hear that Rita has passed. She was a great friend, and was there ready with a helping hand when needed. She will be saddly missed but always loved.

Rita was a bright and vivacious woman when I met her in 1990. Both of us single Moms and in our 30s. Never without a smile. Her laughter infectious! We and our kids had many adventures together. We made sure we danced the night away with friends at least once a month!! I grieve for myself with her passing. Keep laughing, smiling and dancing, Rita💞

It is a heavy heart that my dear friend has passed my thoughts and prayers are past you and the family, and I wish you peace and serenity in this time of grieving. I am hoping to be able to attend her service, but why I’m not sure if I will be able to due to circumstances beyond my control. If I am not there I am there in spirit though love to you all, Wendy Ovesen.
