Peter Michael Kochan passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, at the age of 61.
Peter was born in Iserlohn Germany on May 13, 1964. His father served in the Canadian Armed Forces and the family was stationed in Germany. The family lived on Canadian Armed Forces bases in western Canada and Lahr Germany, before settling in Chilliwack. Peter himself joined the Canadian military at the age of 17, and spent most of his 15 year career in Lahr Germany and eastern Canada, before retiring in Alberta. He made his way back to Chilliwack where he has lived up until his death. Peter loved to go camping and fishing. He enjoyed participating in various hobbies, from painting landscapes to flying drones. He loved living at Piper Richardson VC, enjoying his friendships with other veterans and residents.
Peter is survived and missed by his sisters Colleen McDaniel and Kim (Alfred) Hubner, and his extended family. Peter was pre-deceased by his parents David and Marie Kochan, and his nephew Matthew Hubner.
A family memorial will be held at a later date.
