With profound sadness, we announce that grandma has left us in peace on the 20th of February, 2021. May her spirit Rest In Peace with the Lord and her beloved husband in heaven.
Never the traditional Asian woman people know of, grandma was an incredibly independent, confident, and optimistic woman who lived a happy and fulfilling life until her passing. Having pursued many endeavors in Taiwan, Canada, and later the United States; she broadened her family’s horizons and brought fortunes and countless opportunities to her loved ones and beyond.
Grandma was the glue that bound her family together who lived in different countries around the world. Wherever she was, there was laughter and a sense of contentment and security through her confidence and optimism. With her around, any challenges life presented would never seem significant.
Grandma was a woman of deeds. Her encouragement and love was often carried in her action and life lessons. She rarely expressed her love bluntly but through a series of simple questions such as “Are you cold?”, “Are you hungry?” She left little love and care unfelt by those around her. Grandma’s caring tone will always be remembered and those familiar questions will always be echoed among us.
Despite a missed chance for a proper goodbye, grandma left the world with little regrets. In her lifetime, she witnessed her two sons, daughter, and grandchildren grow into wonderful people and responsible father and mother.
Our sadness and gratitude to her are beyond expression. Grandma will live on in our hearts and our memories and her spirit will carry on in all of us and our actions.
Laugh often, love always, wherever you are.
