Lynne Meryl Field Obituary May 6, 1950 – August 21, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynne Meryl Field, who left us peacefully on August 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after complications from dementia.

Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Lynne grew up amidst the beauty of the ocean and mountains. She often spoke fondly of picnics in Stanley Park and sunbathing on the beaches of English Bay—memories she held close throughout her life.

Lynne is survived by her devoted husband, David, whom she married in 2004, and her beloved daughter Stacie-Lynn Sorensen of Guelph, ON and her stepdaughters Alicia Hebein (Dale) of Maple Ridge, BC; and Angela Stuart (Dave) of Langley, BC. She was predeceased by her son, Mark Sorensen of Langley, BC.

She was a proud grandmother to Chelsea, Rebecca, Noah, Keanan, Avery, Ava, and Brooklyn, and a cherished great-grandmother to Kaden and Isabella. She is also survived by her siblings William Russell (Lora) of White Rock, Janet Schretlen (Joesph) of Nanaimo, BC. She was predeceased by her brother Richard Russell and is lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Karen Russell. She was the daughter of the late Frank Russell and Evelyn Garland(Richard).

In her early years, Lynne was a stay-at-home mom devoted to raising Mark and Stacie in Kamloops, BC, where she created lasting memories of camping trips, bike rides, baking days, and Sunday night dinners. Later, she worked in grocery and sales, building strong relationships and a reputation for her kindness and humor.

Lynne had a deep love for her family. She was never without her camera, always ready to capture precious moments with her grandchildren. Family gatherings were her greatest joy, and she treasured every moment spent with those she loved.

Throughout her life, Lynne lived in various parts of Canada, including Vancouver, Kamloops, Ottawa, and most recently, Langley, BC.

She will be forever loved, missed, and remembered by all who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace, and her spirit will live on in the memories she created.

Those wishing to honor Lynne’s memory may do so through a donation to the Langley Hospice Residence. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
