CHILLIWACK, BC – Leo Louis Gauthier, aged 79, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, in Chilliwack, British Columbia, surrounded by the love of his family. Following a brave and courageous battle with cancer, Leo went home to be in the arms of his Savior, Jesus.
Born on May 1, 1947, in Loon Lake, Saskatchewan, he is survived and will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Edyth; his children, James (Cindy), Christopher, Nicole (Kris), and Chantal (Jeremy); and his sisters, Angeline (Stuart), Rosianne (Ron), Therese, and Jeannette (Ray). He leaves behind a proud legacy in his eight grandchildren: Brandon, Brianna, Lauryn (Chris), Emily, Gabriella, Grayson, Brooklyn, and Gavin, all of whom adored him.
Leo was predeceased by his parents, Amie and Cecelia; his brothers, Romeo, Andre, Henry, and Paul; and his sisters, Alice and Lorraine.
A formal memorial service and celebration of Leo’s life will be held at Chilliwack Alliance Church, 8700 Young Road, Chilliwack on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Fellowship and a time to share stories of Leo will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you spend an evening around a campfire or listening to your favorite music in his memory.
