Laura Neid passed away in Vancouver, BC, on August 23, 2025. Born in Ladysmith, she lived in Nanaimo and spent the past 45 years in White Rock.
Predeceased by her husband Gregory Neid (2021), she is survived by sisters Nancy (Fraser) and Ann (Steve); sister-in-law Jill; nieces and nephews Jennifer (Mark), Sean, Scott, Chantelle, Justin, Robin, and Laura; and great-niece and nephew Eva and Trevor.
Laura worked over 30 years with BC Ferries, retiring proudly as Chief Steward. She loved bright colours, cats, and the sea—especially cruises in retirement. Known for her quick laugh and bold spirit, she will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada (www.heartandstroke.ca).
