It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of José Herminio Pereira, he passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, in Langley, BC at the age of 78, just 2 days shy of his 79th birthday. 

Born on August 18, 1945, in Ribeirinha, Faial, Açores, Portugal. He moved to Vancouver, Canada with his wife Maria Bernadette in April, 1970. Where he established a fulfilling life surrounded by his loving family and friends.

José  was not only a hard worker but also a passionate gardener, an incredibly gifted handyman a jack of all trade kind of guy, there was very little he couldn't do himself. He was always there for his children when they need any home repairs. In addition José was well know for his love of an ice-cream and posting it on Facebook!

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Maria Bernadette Mendonca Da Silveria. His sister, Maria Herminia Moniz (Mario). His son Frank (Jocelyn), daughter Ilda (Joe) and his cherished grandchildren Ana, Sammy, Bella, and Hudson. 

Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco DaRosa Pereira and Ana Emilia DaSilva and his brother Manuel Orlando.

José left us quickly but left us with wonderful memories which we shall cherish and keep in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 15, 2024, at The Magnolia Clubhouse, 18181 68th Ave Surrey.

Everyone is welcome anytime between 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, donations will be collected to be given to the Langley Hospice Society, honoring Jose’s compassionate spirit.

I remember Joe to be a wonderful , friendly man . He always said hi , whenever we crossed paths. Lots of pictures of himself eating a huge ice cream whenever they went to the U.S. Rest in peace dear Joe. Hugs to all that were left behind.
