JOHN WILLIAM HINES
Born September 11, 1944 in Dartmouth Nova Scotia and passed at the
Vancouver General Hospital, January 16, 2020.
He was a loyal and loving husband, father, brother and friend.
John is survived by; beloved wife Susan Chandler, children Chandler Hines (Orysia) and
Alisha Jukubcyzk (Jesse). As well his oldest children, Shelley Lunder
(Jim) and Darren Hines (Janice).He is also survived by his sisters Shirley Hynes and Lynda Cook (Gary).
Johnwas always proud of and encouraged his five grandchildren,
Michael, Mathew, Nolan, Aiden and Audrey.
He was also close to his beloved dachshund, Chloe who could always
be found beside him.
He was predeceased by his mother Gladys and father Bill.
Growing up in Nova Scotia he was passionate about baseball
and became one of the best players in the Dartmouth and Halifax area.
John graduated from Dalhousie University with a Masters in Chemical Engineering and settled in Calgary, AB until his retirement.
John traveled extensively in his later years to Denver, CO, Mt.
Pleasant, SC, Beamsville, ON, Monroe, GA and lastly Ladysmith, BC.
The family would like to thank the Leukemia Ward at VGH for their
kind and professional administrations to John in his 7nal days.
There will be no public funeral but private services held at a later
date
