James Miller

January 29, 2021

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Miller on January 29, 2021 in Harrison Hot Springs.  James was born on February 13, 1938 in Glasgow, Scotland and emigrated to Canada in 1963.  He will be lovely missed and remembered by his daughters Audrey, Louise (Mark), his grandsons Colton and Nicholas and his son Kevin.  He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews across Canada and Scotland.  James spent almost his whole career as a proud Union Sheet Metal worker for Local 280.  He then retired in 1995 to spend time pursuing his passion for golfing, sailing and being out on the water.  In his earlier years he was an avid skier, sailor and camper and could be seen hitting the slopes with his family at Mt. Baker almost every weekend and family vacations traveling across the prairies to family reunions.  James was very generous, fun loving and always the joker and if something was not quite right he was probably behind the hijinks.  He was very involved in the Auxiliary Coast Guard and when he and Catherine moved to Harrison Hot Springs, he spent many hours volunteering on educating boaters on the safety guidelines of boating, and inspecting boats in and around the Fraser Valley.  James was a member of the Good Sam's Club where he enjoyed spending time with his friends camping and chatting the summer months away.  After his wife of 53 years passed in November, the heartache was too much, and he went to be with her and his beloved dog Augus.  We love you, miss you and will always cherish our memories of you.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date due to restrictions.  In lieu of flowers please donate to the Heart and Stoke Foundation of Canada or Pacific Assistance Dogs Society (PADS)
