In Loving Memory of Glenn David Grant
October 27, 1944 – October 18, 2025

It is with great sadness that we share the sudden passing of our dear friend, brother, uncle, and all around interesting cat ‘G’ / Dave / Glenn / Glenny who passed away peacefully at home at the age of 81, in White Rock, BC.

Born in Montreal to Thomas and Delia Grevy-Grant; G lived a life full of love, creativity, and dedication. At just 23, he married his 19-year-old high school sweetheart — the love of his life — and together they shared more than 50 years of deep devotion and partnership. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Nancy, cherished son, Joey and sweet bijou Sofie, to whom he dedicated his heart and every effort throughout his life.

With a 45-year career in construction, Dave took great pride in helping to quite literally build Vancouver better. He had a passion for building and fixing things the ‘right’ way! Before moving west from Montreal, he had already shown a natural eye for beauty and artistry. In his early 20s, his handcrafted leather belts were featured in the seasonal window displays at the Bay and Simpsons department stores — a testament to his creative spirit. He later turned his keen eye to photography, becoming a talented wedding photographer whose work captured joy and brilliance in every frame.

G was a man of endless curiosity and enthusiasm. A big movie buff, an avid reader, he devoured books of all kinds, he loved reading and studying maps. He loved to travel, explore cuisines from around the world, and was a skilled cook and generous host. His big, caring heart extended to his brother Ross, his cousins, nieces, and nephews — all of whom he cared for deeply. He was so happy to have met Ilse who brought new light, love, joy and companionship into his life.

G also loved the outdoors — especially sport hunting with his son and close friends — and proudly kept many mementos of their adventures. Music was another great joy in his life: the blues, Santana, and above all, B.B. King. His favorite song was “Let the Good Times Roll,” and he often quoted B.B.’s philosophy, “When you’re dead, you’re done.”

So, dear G., as we remember you and all the good times you gave us — we’ll do as you said. Let the good times roll…but Sunday dim sum ‘church’ will never be the same without you!

A man of so many words, his varied,  interesting and knowledgeable conversations will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved him dearly.

Au revoir, fly high my friend!💜
