Gerald “Gerry” Hanley, 71, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026.
The second-born of eight children, he carried a deep appreciation for family throughout his life. He is survived by his children, Chris, Ryann (Airi), Keri, and Mallory; and his beloved grandchildren, Rylee, Madison, Christopher, Sakura, and Ryu, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his siblings, April, Ron (Darlene), Don (Debbie), Arlene (Joe), Colleen (Gord), and Patricia (Mike). He was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Phyllis, and his sister, Crystal.
Gerry was a devoted father and grandfather who took great pride in his family. He will be remembered for the lasting impact he had on the lives of those around him. Known for his strong-willed and stubborn nature, Gerry lived life in his own way and on his own terms.
Music was an important part of Gerry’s life in his younger years, he enjoyed singing and performing with his band. His love of hockey was something he proudly shared with his boys, and some of his most cherished memories came from coaching their hockey and baseball teams when they were young.
In his final days, Gerry found comfort in reconnecting with old friends and being surrounded by those he loved most. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
A gathering to celebrate Gerry’s life will be held at a later date for all who wish to attend
You are invited to leave a personal message for the family.

Growing up Gerry was an amazing brother coaching both Crystal and I as teens in softball. He was a good and fun coach and only maybe 20 years old at that time. Miss ya brother!
