This commitment remained central to his life for over eight decades.

A devoted Elder in the congregation, Doug was known for delivering heartfelt Bible discourses & officiating weddings. He was knowledgeable, yet approachable; known for his calm manner and sense of humor. His dedication to his faith extended beyond public ministry into all aspects of life; reflected in the loving care of Vicki during her final days with Alzeimer’s until her passing in 2011.
Family brought Doug immense joy. He cherished time spent with his granddaughters Kara & Shayna, and their pets companionship. He also found peace tending to his garden or walking the scenic Nicomekl River near their home in Langley from 2001 on.
Travel held a special place in his heart; among favourite memories were exploring Israel in 1978, walking in Jesus’ footsteps, and road trips along the West Coast.

He and the family are very thankful for the care he received over the years from his family physician “Dr.B”; Langley, Royal Columbian & Abbotsford Hospitals; Homehealth; Bevan Village Assisted Living and Cottage Pavilion Extended Care under Dr. Sarah. Such dedicated teams and support staff. Thankyou to all of the Friends who called/visited/wrote/prayed with him. Thankyou Just Cremation for his final arrangements.

May memories of friendship with Doug , with his blue eyes twinkling with laughter and his favourite verses at Psalm 31 bring comfort. He will be excited to learn just how Bible prophecy unfolds & had full faith in God’s promises at Jo 5:28 and Rev 21:3,4. Doug would not want anyone to be sad, as he is safe in God’s memory.
