Deborah Schuck

August 7, 2023

It is with tremendous sadness to announce the passing of Deborah (Debbie) Elizabeth Schuck on August 7,2023 after a brief but courageously fought battle with cancer.

Debbie was born on March 10, 1957 in Unity, Saskatchewan to parents Michael and Martha Schuck (both deceased).   The family moved to Calgary, AB in 1957 and this was just the start of an amazing life full of travel and adventure for Debbie.

At a very young age Debbie filled the world with her sense of humor, intelligence and most notably her artistic nature.  Drawing, painting and playing the flute were second nature to her.

She would eventually receive her degree in Education at the U of C.  This was the perfect profession for her as she imparted her wisdom, playfulness and love onto each student that had the pleasure of Miss Schuck being their teacher.  Her love of education took her to Honolulu, HI and eventually to UAE where she rose the ladder to become a director of early education.

Her greatest joy and achievement, however, was her son Michael (deceased).  They were inseparable and shared many great adventures together around the world. As well as being a devoted mother she was a loving and caring best friend to Linda Dixon, advocate/niece Angie Vandenbeld Bishop, sister to Peggy Vandenbeld (nee Schuck), Larry Schuck, Rebecca Schuck and Marybeth Chan (nee Schuck), Auntie, great Auntie and cousin.

There will forever be a hole in the lives of all who knew Debbie. Her beauty inside and out will be terribly missed.  Her artwork will forever live on and remind us of what a truly loving soul she was.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Sept. 23 at 2:00 pm at the First Church of the Nazarene, 65 Richard Way SW Calgary Alberta for all the many people who want to share in her memory. This service will also be live streamed; please see https://www.firstnaz.ca. In lieu of flowers please direct donations to the Canadian Cancer foundation.

You are invited to leave a personal message for the family.

So heart breaking to.lose Two beautiful people.  We were first cousins however distance made it difficult to keep in touch.  Uncle Mike and family came to visit us in Regina when the kids were younger I remember this so well.  My mum always kept us up to date.  They will be so missed by all that loved them

You will be missed. You were a beautiful soul and a sweet, loving teacher. ❤️  ~ Julie Ann Lofthouse-Mandziak

We want to pass along our deepest sympathy’s and condolences. It is with heavy hearts that we write this. Even with the short time that we had with Debbie, she became a great friend and mentor. We were so thankful God sent us an angel in the form of Debbie at just the proper time. Our regret was that we did not get the chance to know Michael better. May you take great comfort in knowing during this difficult time that they are both with the Lord and at peace.

With love and blessings,

Milan and Michelle Trisevic
