David White

August 6, 2025

With deep love and remembrance, we honour the life of David Sidney White, who passed peacefully on August 6, 2025, following a long and courageous journey with liver cirrhosis, liver transplants, and ultimately cancer.

David lived life with spirit and adventure. He was most at peace when surrounded by nature—camping beneath open skies, fishing quiet waters, skiing fresh trails, walking wooded paths, or simply pausing to take in the beauty of the sky. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he devoted many years to volunteering with sports teams and giving his time to others in the community, always willing to show up and lend a hand.

David is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Tori, and her spouse Patrick, who will forever cherish the countless moments of joy, guidance, and love he shared so freely. He will always hold a special place in the hearts of his siblings, Melisa and James, whose loving care sustained him throughout his battle. Heartfelt gratitude is extended to his sister Laura and her husband Bruno, who selflessly cared for David and created a safe, loving home for him in his final years. Laura’s steady presence brought him profound comfort and peace when he needed it most. His grandsons, Thomas and Luke, will forever be inspired by their grandfather’s adventurous spirit, resilience, and love for life.

Even in his hardest days, David held onto hope, strength, and his unique sense of humour. His journey was not always easy, and the road he walked carried many challenges, but he faced each one with humility and an open heart.

He often reminded us with a wry smile, “No one gets out of here alive,” a quote from his beloved Rock n Roll music that spoke to both his realism and his rock-and-roll spirit. He understood the fleeting nature of life, and he made sure to live it on his own terms—boldly, honestly, and full of heart.

In the end, David left this world as he lived in it—on his own terms—at AgeCare Royal City in New Westminster, BC, with a spirit that refused to be caged by the mortal coil. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will continue to inspire laughter, courage, and a healthy dose of mischief.
